He changed his mind!

He finally wants to wear the Dalton pants. He even allowed me to take some pictures.

Although it still has to happen rather quickly as his good mood changed in a glimpse of an eye.

Two for the price of one; a lovely day out as well as a photo shoot on location.

The Dalton pants a couple of sizes bigger than the pants of Felix, this time around in some gorgeous Petit Pan cotton.

The tractable child baptized it a great ‘sand pants’. She let herself completely go during the shoot.

We will surely make more of these as it is a great pattern!

The trip itself was also really fun. It had been a while since our previous pick nick trip to the desert and it was another unforgettable trip.

We ran, we jumped, we crawled, we ‘fought’, and we ate.

And … The company was fantastic. See you soon desert-friends!

Mobile phone sleeping bag

I wish I had a sleeping bag just like my mobile phone. I could do with a good long hibernation sleep; but not just yet, there are two more days of school left and then we take a break! I can’t wait!

Petit Pan is still my favorite and the KamSnap colors that was just good luck! I only have four colors lingering around and two of them perfectly match this fabric.

Dalton

I know the Dalton pants from La Maison de Victor (edition 3), is the perfect pants for Felix. We enlarged the pattern as it is not provided for huge 3 year olds!

So far the pants are hanging on our wall with washi-tape, because Felix is still not a big fan of homemade garments and consequently he is very unhappy when I dress him with his new Dalton. Although it looks gorgeous on him.

I plan to make one for Jade soon because she loves homemade garments and sometimes that is just enough to motivate Felix to start wearing his!

The best weekend of the year is on its way, Dubai Rugby 7s, and that means: last hard training sessions, and some practice games. Our practice game against Brasil got some press coverage. In this picture you see Moeke attack against the National Brasilian ladies. We lost against a fast and strong Brasil nevertheless this game was a great preparation for the main tournament this weekend.

Selfie squared

Selfie squared: a selfie of a Tshirt for my’self’.

This Froy and Dind fabric sat gathering dust for a couple of weeks now. Last week after a stressful day I desperately grabbed the scissors, on old pattern I made up long before I knew there was a blog-world out there! Two days later -time to sew is rare these days- the top was ready to be worn! The joy off finally having made something again was great.

The lack of a photographer forced me into taking selfies, and as it is a rather long Tshirt it was impossible to capture a good image of it with only one picture.

Nevertheless, this collage gives you an idea of the result.

VIP Palm tree

We often see funny, weird and or crazy things here; and today I saw a VIP palm tree. While driving on Sheikh Zayed Road I saw a helicopter transporting a palm tree. The picture isn't awesome because I had only 1 shot with 1 hand, but I still feel I want to share it with you.

Both helicopter and palm did not really seem to enjoy the ride.
