Pants

We made space in the cabinet, got rid of some old pants, and replaced them with the uniform; luckily not all space got taken by the uniforms. We made some ‘Jacobs’ to fill the empty spaces. The short version suits us best.

A grey version with blue piping on the pockets.

A sea blue one with yellow piping on the pockets.

A blue dark blue one with yellow piping on the pockets.

A green one with neon orange piping on the pockets.

A blue one with white/orange squares and yellow piping on the pockets.

Elias additionally asked for a macho short version. He got one in camouflage fabric with neon orange piping on the pockets.

Three shorts per son, to make sure I can skip ironing once and a while.

Mending

The school uniforms need space in the cabinets so we had to through our kid’s pile of clothes. Some of the boys’ pants were mended.

Some of the boys’ pants are worn to shreds and after recuperating the buttons the pants went straight to the bin.

After mending we even found some time to sew some more Jacob pants. Stay tuned for the pictures of our version of the Jacob.

Baby bouncer

Some time ago we went through all the files on our computer and did not only find this, but also found the pictures of the baby bouncer we refurbished -3 years ago!- for Felix.

An old metal bouncer seat, bought for the ridiculous sum of 2.5 euro in de sales at the second hand store, was refreshed with a new fabric.
Unluckily we discovered it when number 5 was born! I could have used it for the others as well!

Uniform

It took a while to find our daily routine this school year, thus our ‘first-school-day-post’ got some delay.
Or it might have been because of this:

We have to wear school uniforms from this year onwards. Bye bye colorful clothes and personal gadgets, all geared up exactly the same! It most have advantages, but so far we think it is boring!

Jip and Janneke

Felix starts at school after this summer so we had to get rid of some baby items he was still using. We brought the changing table, baby bed,... to the secondhand store and Felix got my old bed.
The paint is no longer in good condition but the fabric gives it a new look.

The gorgeous 'Jip & Janneke' fabric came from Point of View in Ronse - the discovery of this summer.

Off course he also got a mattress and my old duvet.

My day #9

Tidied up the computer and found some ‘forgotten’ gems from last year.
Some dresses from the same series as this one, but these colors remained -for no reason- unpublished.
The pink version with somewhat too much zigzag band according to myself but just perfect according to our daughter.

Turquoise and orange.

Pattern: Curl Up homemade, but samples the dress we bought in ‘De Jacob’ in Gent, Belgium.
Fabric: The plain fabrics are Kona Solids from Robert Kaufman bought @ Classic Quilts &Quilting. The different Kokeshi fabrics were bought @ Fifi Jolipois.

My day #8

School is finished. It is too warm to play longer than 30 minutes outside at the moment, so we have to find valuable alternatives. Our collection of playmobil temporarily lost its charm so the three eldest sew a cuddle.

Mibo has a range of printed tea towels that can be transformed into a cuddle. I bought the towels locally, but you can order them as well as their other gorgeous products directly from Mibo.
